For those of you who are not local, It takes some planning ahead to get the Vineyard. Our wedding is not in peak season, but October is still busy (especially Columbus day weekend), so the more you can plan ahead, the better!
If bringing a car (which is recommended if you are here for an extended period), be sure to book your reservations on the MV ferry with significant foresight, as the ferries book up well ahead of time.

There are a few rental car agencies on the island as well, linked at the bottom of this page.
Flying?
Martha’s Vineyard Airport is quite small, but there can be flight deals depending on the timing between New York City or Boston and the Vineyard.
Apart from that, the closest and most convenient airport from the ferry is Boston Logan Airport. From there, you can either rent a car, or take the Peter Pan Bus to the Woods Hole, MA Steamship Authority ferry, which will bring you to either Vineyard Haven or Oak Bluffs depending on the time. (In order to get to the ferry, head to Woods Hole, MA.)
Getting Around
Car is the easiest and most convenient way to get to the farthest reaching areas of the island, and do some exploring!
Public transportation is not great, but the VTA buses have services between towns and along most main roads, if somewhat infrequently.
Uber and Lyft are also great options for getting around on the vineyard, and there are a plethora of taxi companies.
**Closer to the event we may have some transport arranged to facilitate transport to and from the event depending on the number of guests coming from away! Stay tuned**
